BizFilings has been a major player in the business formation space for a long time. They have guided hundreds of thousands of people through their online formation process since 1996. BizFilings is owned by legal services giant, CT Corporation.

Every online LLC service makes its money off of the additional services. The advertised low-end price draws you in, but after you finish the order process, you have either spent much more for upgrades or feel like you are missing out.  Rather than get surprised at the end of the process, we wanted to outline and compare the real costs of the core services everyone wants.

The four most commonly requested or "core" services are: (1) preparation and filing of LLC paperwork with the state; (2) within two business days; (3) with a custom/personalized operating agreement; and (4) an EIN.

The cheapest way to get all 4 core services is to purchase the Basic Package ($99) and add in an EIN ($79); an operating agreement ($39); and expedited processing ($60) for a grand total of $277.

All business formation companies, including BizFilings, offer registered agent services. BizFilings provides 6 months of registered agent services for free if you use them to start your LLC. After the free trial expires, they charge $174/year.

It is impossible to opt out of their registered agent services, so make sure you cancel before the free trial expires.

BizFiling is known for it's many guides and tools offered to small businesses (like the start up checklist) and their ongoing business services after formation.

BizFilings has been BBB accredited since November 1, 1997 and maintains an A+ rating.  During our review of BizFilings, we did find 7 complaints on the BBB website.

BizFilings is available via Chat, Phone or Email.  Their hours are 8am - 7pm CST Monday through Friday.

Any business with hundreds of thousands of customers is going to disappoint some of them. The #1 complaint we encountered was due to annual charges for registered agent services.

Unfortunately, you are forced to use their registered agent services.  Make sure you remember to cancel if you do not want to be charged $164 when the free registered agent services expire.  You'll need to provide proof (in writing) that your company has a new registered agent on file with the state before you can cancel.
